Participate in our studies!
We do fun, game-like studies with children of various ages, both in person and online.

If you're a parent or caregiver and would like to hear about our upcoming studies, please sign up below.

1) In-person Studies

When a study comes up that your child is the right age for, we give you a call or send you an email, describing that particular study in detail. If you have the interest and time to participate at that point, we schedule an appointment.

Our in-person studies take place in the Psychology Building room 83. You’ll receive parking information and directions with your appointment email.

What to expect:
  • Playtime in our waiting room
  • Signing consent forms (sent ahead of your visit)
  • 20 – 25 minute study in the form of a game
  • Wrap up and description of what happened in the study

Perks for kids: Children get to pick a small thank you gift.

What to expect?
  • Signing consent forms (will be sent ahead of the appointment)
  • 5 – 25 minute study in the form of a game
  • Wrap up and description of what happened in the study

Perks for kids: Families get a gift card as a thank you.

3) School Partnerships

We collaborate with preschools and elementary schools across East Lansing, Lansing, and Okemos. We conduct studies in classroom settings with students whose parents have provided prior consent. In return, we actively support our partner schools—hosting science outreach nights for families to discuss children’s development and organizing informal tea chats with teachers to hear what questions they’d like our research to address.

If your school is interested in building a research partnership with us, please reach out to our Principal Investigator Dr. Meltem Yucel ([email protected]).
